JOIN US FOR EASTER EVENTS & SERVICES

Come and join us to celebrate the resurrection of Christ and the hope that it brings to all those who believe. We have several worship services and fellowship events where we recall Jesus death on the cross and his resurrection power.

MEANING OF EASTER

Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, an event mentioned in the four Gospels - Matthew 21:1-11, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:28-44, John 12:12-13.

As Jesus rode into the city on a donkey, the crowd waved palm branches to greet and honor Him. These palm branches symbolized His arrival in peace rather than as a war-waging king arriving on a horse.

At APC we celebrate Palm Sunday by distributing palm branches to the congregation prior to our worship service together.

Passover celebrates God’s redemption of His people from slavery in Egypt. The Last Supper was itself part of a celebration of Passover. Jesus knew He would be put to death in a few hours (Luke 22:15). At this celebration, He took elements of the Passover (the bread and the cup) and identified them as His body and blood, symbolizing His death (1 Corinthians 11:26).

At APC, we will be led by Dennis Karp from Chosen People's Ministries as he details the components of the Seder Meal and the meanings behind each part. Prior to this, we as a congregation will partake in a roast chicken dinner together. Please be sure to register.

Good Friday commemorates the passion, the willing suffering and death of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is a solemn day of reflection, repentance and meditation on the immense sacrifice Jesus made for humanity. His death served as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.

At APC we commemorate Good Friday during a worship service together.

The Easter Egg symbolizes new life and rebirth. The hard shell of the egg represents the sealed Tomb of Christ and the cracking the shell symbolizes Jesus’ resurrection from the dead.

At APC we celebrate the new life and rebirth granted from Jesus’ death through an Easter Egg Hunt & Potluck Breakfast. Be sure to register!

Easter celebrates Jesus’ resurrection of Jesus Christ from the tomb, occurring three days after His crucifixion. This event fulfills the prophecy of the Messiah’s persecution, death for our sins, and resurrection, as foretold in Isaiah 53.  Without Jesus’ suffering we have no hope for a future resurrection.

At APC we celebrate and declare the good news during two worship services. Following the second service there will be an Easter fellowship time together.
