YOUTH DIRECTOR

We are excited to have the opportunity to bring a Youth Director on board who loves Jesus, our young people, and our church.  The ideal candidate will work alongside our lead pastor and fully embrace the Mission of APC, which is to glorify God in all we do, make, and equip disciples of Christ, and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to love and serve others in word and deed.  We are a church that is gospel-centered, community-driven, and mission-focused.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements: Experience working with the youth. A degree in theology, youth ministry, or a related field is preferred.

Spiritual Requirements: A commited disciple of Jesus Christ who believes in God's inspired Word and can teach and train others in the faith.  He or she actively practices spiritual disciplines, exhitbits the fruit of the Spirit, and has strong relationship skills.

Abilities Desired: Compassionate, dependable, organized, excellent leadership skills, team player, and good teaching ability.  Communicates well with others and can establish and maintain connection with parents and youth.  Ability to work closely with other Ministry Staff, church Board, and Ministry Leaders to see that our objectives are accomplished. A willingness and ability to pioneer new things and inspire others to new initiatives.

Position Overview

The Youth Director will plan and oversee the high school and middle school youth groups, coordinate activities and retreats, and develop and foster relationships with students, parents and volunteers.

Areas of Responsibility

High School and Middle School Youth Group (Sundays 7:00-9:00pm)

Plan lessons and activities for weekly youth group meetings that minister to their spiritual growth

Recruit and organize chaperones and snack helpers for weekly youth group meetings

Recruit and develop youth volunteer leadership team.

Attend church regularly and monthly staff meetings.

Teach confirmation class.

In charge of (organize and implement) youth Sunday.

Plan opportunities for outreach, discipleship, and service

Help lead a Youth Mission trip.

Part-time paid staff (15-20 hours per week) $25/hour
