ABOUT US

Ashburn Presbyterian Church is affiliated with the Fellowship Community (TFC). TFC is a network of churches and leaders called together to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ by growing in Christ’s likeness, living by God’s Word, and joining in God’s mission in the world.

At the heart of The Fellowship Community, is the desire to reclaim a covenanted biblical community, where we are united by a clearly articulated theology, a shared commitment to disciple-making, and a culture of encouragement and accountability.

OUR MISSION

To glorify God in all we do.

Make and equip disciples of Christ.

Be empowered by the Holy Spirit to love and serve others through word and deed.

CORE VALUES

Gospel-Centered

All the Bible points to the good news of Jesus Christ; His life, death, and resurrection. This gospel message is the power and guide for everything we do as a church, therefore we are called to understand, defend, and share the gospel.

Fellowship-Driven

We gather regularly as a community in small and large groups to grow as disciples of Christ. Spiritual formation is achieved when we worship God together, deepen friendships, pray for one another, and serve each other and the community.

Mission-Focused

As disciples of Christ, we are committed to communicating the gospel message through words, love, and good deeds to our neighbors near and far by being generous with time, talent, and resources to benefit others in need spiritually and materially.

OUR STAFF

Alex Pino

Alex has been a part of APC since he was 13 years old. He began singing in the choir and did so until he left for Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey where he earned a Bachelor of Sacred music degree. His background is grounded in choral music conducting, but he has grown to love contemporary style music and leads our congregation in singing every Sunday. His father, Mark Pino, is our accompanist.

Alex enjoys spending time with his wife Laura, family, watching sports (Go Eagles! Go Flyers! Go Phillies!) and always finding new things to try. Alex also works full time in Special Education at Farmwell Station Middle School, helping students with their educational goals.

OUR HISTORY

  1. Founded in 1876, Ashburn Presbyterian Church was orginally called the Farmwell Presbyterian Church, the former name of the Village of Ashburn.
  2. The historic sanctuary was erected in 1878 on 10.3 acres of land just south of the community.
  3. We were a small rural church until the congregation began to experience dramatic growth in the 1990's.
  4. Our facilities have expanded over the years, adding a fellowship hall, new sanctuary and staff offices, and preschool classrooms.
