All youth between the ages of 12 – 16 years old are invited to participate in the Youth Confirmation Classes.
Over the course of 4 classes, we will discuss the foundations of the Christian faith. It will be a time for youth to ask questions as they explore their beliefs. They will be encouraged to write a statement of faith and, if they want, present it to the church's elders and be presented to the church during a worship service. We encourage them to attend even if unsure if they want to make a public profession of their faith.
We will have four classes on Sunday from 5 PM to 6:30 PM (All youth are invited to stay afterwards for Youth Group) We will meet on May 4th, 18th, June 1st, and 8th. We are condensing the material, so if the youth miss one class, please email Pastor Robert for the materials you missed.
Here is the explanation for why we have confirmation:
"When those who have been baptized as children are ready to make a public profession of faith and accept the responsibility of life in the church, the session shall provide an opportunity for them to do so. They are to be instructed in the faith, examined by the session, received as active members, and presented to the congregation in public worship."
